27 Weeks

It was another eventful morning at the doctor's office. Both boys have good heart rates, and their fluid levels have normalized, which is great! Unfortunately, Eli continues to have the intermittent diastolic blood flow, which has been complicated by an additional problem: he is experiencing reverse diastolic blood flow in his cord as well. This means he is getting even less blood and nutrients than before. Because of this, my doctor, now Dr. Hunter, has increased my frequency of ultrasounds, non-stress tests, and OB visits to twice weekly; Mondays and Fridays. Also, they have started me on a course of steroids to mature the babies' lungs and brains to prepare for pre-term delivery.

Hopefully, things will turn around by Friday with our blood flow issues, but if not, these babies could very well arrive in the next week or two. We'll do our best to keep you updated!
