We had our 26 week appointment today. Charlie is 2 pounds, 5 ounces, and Eli is 1 pound 15 ounces! I can't believe it! Unfortunately, Eli has the intermittent blood flow problem again, and Charlie is at the cut off for acceptable fluid levels - the range tops out at 8 cm, and he is at 7.9 cm. We're going back next week of course, and if Charlie's amniotic fluid has continued to build up, and Eli's has continued to decrease, the doctor will remove some fluid from Charlie via amnio-reduction, where they poke a needle into the amniotic sac and remove some of the fluids. Hopefully we won't have to have this procedure, but the lucky thing is that it posses a low risk to the boys and can be repeated as necessary. But, things swing a lot from one week to the next, so they could also resolve this on issue on their own.
For now, both boys have great heart rates and are within the acceptable weight range which is great! More next week.
