How we prepared for TS Leslie

Last week on Wednesday it was predicted that Bermuda would be enduring a direct hit by Category 2 Hurricane Leslie on Saturday. I got nervous and we started to prepare.

We got lots of candles, flashlights and spare batteries.

FEMA recommends you have a three day supply of drinking water: one gallon of drinking water per person, per day. Amy recommends that you get paper plates and disposable cups since you won't be washing dishes with no power.

We got lots of canned goods in case we lost all of the food in our fridge and freezer. Eli and Charlie's favorite: black beans, Amy: Chef Boyardee, Brad: canned chicken (bleck!).

We even got the boys some shelf stable milk... yum.

The waves started rolling in. This is the first time in six months of living in Bermuda that we saw even a single wave from our vista point. Check out the above entry for Leslie's culmination!
